LET'S HAVE A 6-NATION TALK HERE ON THE FORUM

Forumites have just about debated every current event there is to be debated.  Pros and cons are thrown in and out, and rejected back and forth, so many times that only thing still appears refreshing is cursing  obscenities.  So, instead of risking turning ourselves into endless replays, let's do the real things that diplomats seems to have a hard time to get it done.  Let's play diplomats representing the six nations that are talking about North Korea right here on the forum.

Look, we do have an advantage over the real thing.  We dont have any mob boss to represent at home.  And as for cultural and political differences, no one knows better than us what a waste of time debating them can be.  But most importantly we are an open forum -- so fairness has a chance.

I volunteer as the North Korea representative.  I think as long as some of us can have America and China covered, we can have a good fight on our hands.  But South Korea is also important.  And Japan, if only it could come out America's shadow would add some reality to the discussion.  Finally any European forumite can represent the Russians.

Let me fire the first shot.  We North Koreans wants:

1. Assurance that America stops considering our being communistic is evil.
2. We should be compensated for scrapping our abomb program with something equivalent but more peaceful, such as a commercial nuclear reactor.  Proposed arrangement for source of funding should come from: 100% loan from Japan with 0% interest, to be paid back in 30 years starting the day reactor become operational.  20% of payment should come from America as foreign aid.  Similarly for Japan.  For this, American Bechtel can be the NSSS contractor and Japanese Toshiba(Advanced BWR), the nuclear system contractor, respectively.  The rest 60% should be equally divided among the 6 nations as each's 10% investment in North Korea's power industry.
3. We would like to reunify with South Korea in sports, culture and diplomacy.
4. We would consider the option of joining the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) with an agenda to remove all foreign troops on the Korea peninsula.
5. Finally, as a joint guesture of permanent peace in the region, the 6 nations should invest equally in an effort to connect Japan with the Continent Asia by a tunnel.

Now, go browse the net and then pick a nation and argue for it.
