TAIWAN SHOULD APPROVE THE ARM PURCHASE, BUT BUY FROM CHINA, NOT AMERICA
What Taiwan buys from China should be the missiles that are
pointed at Taiwan,
as well as enough naval arsenals that China could spare for defense of
the Fishing Island.
And as a gesture of trust, China should put Hongkong and Macao under
the jurisdiction of Taiwan.
China should use the purchase money to dig a tunnel under the Taiwan
Strait. Such a plan actually has been initiated as early as
1996. Even if the money is not approved by Taiwan's Congress,
private money from the Nationalist Party could be used as a repayment
from what they took from China's Treasury. And it's about time
the Taiwan people be made aware that this money has been the reason for
Taiwan's economic miracle.
The two sides should agree that when the two land
masses are physically
connected, they should also become one people.
This reunification of Taiwan with China is not going to be the same a
the previous one during the Ching Dynasty. There are the issues
of
the loots Taiwan took from China's Treasury, including the priceless
antiques currently
in Taiwan's national museum. Also the contrasting governmental
system imposed on Taiwan by the Westernized Chinese needs to be
reChinesenized in order China would one day be truly one. Could
all these result in "settling the scores after Fall?" If future
conflicts would ever arise, the comparatively impoverished segment of
China mainland's population might just as well do a scorch earth on
Taiwan now the Americans are out of the picture. So, in order to
minimize future problems, this union must be done with the utmost
cordiality in the tradition of generousity that has characterized China
in the past.
